The majority of my work is in watercolor and oil, but at times I have taken side trips into such varied media as mural painting and other public artworks, including glass mosaics and work in glazed ceramic tiles. Upcoming, I will collaborate in an immersive environment for the future Denver Meow Wolf project.
But the main focus of my work has been working with landscape themes. Most of my paintings are essentially representational, inspired by places with landscapes that have profoundly moved me; places like the deserts of the Southwest, the jungles of Central America, and the glaciers and tundras of Iceland. I avoid conventionally scenic views of such places. Rather, I try to express the inner essence of a special place, and how that particular landscape evokes an inner response that I aim to convey in my work.
